Train Speed Meter is a free web application that measures how fast your train is moving. The speedometer runs in your web browser and uses the GPS sensor in your phone or device to calculate speed in real time. This page explains what information is — and is not — handled when you use it.
To show your live speed, the tool needs access to your device's location (GPS). Your location data is processed on your own device for the live measurement only. We do not collect, store, or transmit your location data to our servers. Your browser may ask for permission before sharing your location — you can decline, but the speedometer will not work without it.
No account or sign-up is needed to use Train Speed Meter. We do not ask you to register, and we do not maintain user profiles.
If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. This information is used only to read and respond to your message. We do not sell it or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
Like most websites, our hosting server may automatically log basic technical information such as your browser type, the pages you visited, and the time of your visit. These logs are used for security and for keeping the site running, and are not linked to your identity.
This site runs on WordPress and may use cookies for basic site functions such as caching and remembering your preferences. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

Train Speed Meter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our contact form, please contact us through the form and we will delete it.
